I support long range planning (and action today) that provides for the sustainability of our water resources, our natural resources, our historical resources and our economic resources. I strongly support prudent use of our tax dollars that, first and foremost, provide necessary services to our citizens in every community of this vast, diverse county.

As commissioner, I will work to protect your way of life in Park County by:

• Developing and implementing a strong water policy covering quantity and quality to safeguard your most valuable asset – your home - and our natural resources. I will continue to support local water entities and to address Park County’s water issues at state water organizations.

• Ensuring land use, waste water treatment, 1041 water project, and 1041 wildlife habitat regulations truly implement our Strategic Master Plan, contain no loopholes, are consistently applied, and effectively protect your property values and property rights.

• Opening the doors of government to residents by doing more than just following the “letter of the law” regarding Open Meetings. I will also engage in open communications and real dialogue, make information more readily accessible, and seek collaboration among the diverse groups and interests in Park County.

• Lessening your tax burden by reducing the mill levy and developing a “growth must pay its way” policy.

• Ensuring your tax dollars are spent where they are needed and you want them - on the roads, land use violations, and other necessary services with thoughtful management of our tax resources as well as more thorough oversight for budget efficiency.

• Encouraging private conservation easements and agricultural uses, heritage and historic preservation, and economic development that is based on keeping Park County unique.
